The meaning of IXTYS

                  The meaning of IXTYS

The representation of Christ monogram which comes from the Greek alphabet X (chi) and P (ro) letters. When this monogram was seen on a gravestone it meant to be buried there a Christian person.

The fish in Greek is IXTHYS and from its letters Jesus Christ, God’s Son, the Redeemer can be read out. The fish is a widely spread Christian symbol which summarises the Christian belief. Fish as a symbol can be found in early-Christian era. In old Palestine, the sketch of the fish was drawn on the ground with its head showing the way to the persecuted fellowship’s underground meeting point. The persecuted chose the fish for their symbol because its Greek letters are the letters of Jesus Christ, God’s Son, the Redeemer

We won't argue with anybody as everybody is given the opportunity to find proof for our words' authenticity.

Those who find evidence for it will not argue with us. Those who don't find it, we have nothing to argue about.

You ask how I can get evidence.
